I Should've Stayed in Bed!

It's one of those days...it took me 3 trys to stamp this card to my satisfaction and then I ended up coloring the bottom of the trunk in as I rocked the stamp. I then photographed it and put the card in the mail so that I wouldn't miss the mailcarrier only to find out that my photography is ultra-poor and not at all sharp. I then tried to edit this and I think only made it worse (and it has all this white space attached to it at the bottom...ugh!). Trust me that it looks a lot better in real life than it does in this lousy photo!

This card is for a friend who recently lost her grandson and brother within days of each other.

Taking Better Photographs

I recently came across this article describing how to improve the quality of your photographs. Jacqueline Reed, Baltimore Scrapbooking Examiner, writes

"Recently, the trend has been to place one spectacular photograph on a scrapbook page and design the page around it. The photograph takes center stage, and the scrapbook design showcases it.

The key to this look is getting that fabulous photograph in the first place! Kodak, HP, and others have wonderful tips for taking better photographs. "

Check out the rest of her article here. I like this tip. "Consider snapping a shot of someone standing with a round bush in the background. They'll look like they have a big head of green hair!" Hmmm...Maybe Stampin' Up! Green Galore hair?
What's your favorite photography tip? Thanks for stopping by!

Golden Wishes

I recently made a golden anniversary card for my neighbor to give to her friends. I liked the layout so much that I decided to use the same colors and layout for a birthday card. Unfortunately, the photograph doesn't do this card justice as it was stormy and I had to use artificial light to take the picture prior to getting it in the mail. No, it wasn't late but it would've been if I hadn't mailed it when I did!
